Something Borrowed

Your details matter. After all, your wedding day is the biggest event you'll ever plan and just like your marriage, you want it to stand the test of time. It's here in my journal where I share a piece of my heart from love stories, inspiration, love letters, and all things pretty.

New York Loft Wedding Inspiration

Growing up and living here in New Jersey is special for many reasons. We’re not only just a short drive away from pretty shorelines along the coast, but also so close to the hustle and bustle of New York City. (Two reasons why many find it hard to move from this area.) I don’t know about you, but when I think of SoHo weddings, this inspiration at SoHo Meet Gallery is exactly what comes to mind! Think a loft-style setting with sweeping views of the skyline, exposed wood, lush Faye + Renee florals, and romantic candlelight. And then there’s the whimsy lace Louvienne gown, one of the prettiest tablescapes dressed to the nines, a cake topped with intricate elements, and a beautifully blue color palette inspired by Pantone’s color of the year: classic blue. Sugar Rose Events executed all the incredible details overflowing with classic elegance, while Idalia Photography captured the beauty on camera.

Once I received the inspiration behind this style shoot, I knew I wanted to incorporate stationery details reminiscent of a timeless style. The calligraphy, modern wedding crest with blue wax seal, hand torn paper and blue envelope made this Lace and Belle suite stand out. Simple calligraphy menu cards with blue patterned dinnerware and napkins made the perfect pair, while lucite engraved place cards (in modern calligraphy, of course) tied together the crystal glassware and taper candle holders. Do you love or LOVE?!

This wedding editorial is redefining a modern take on the “something blue” wedding tradition.

These images are sure to leave you inspired for all the romantic ways to incorporate your something blue into your wedding day. Take a peek at my favorite images below and then view more over on Destination I Do!
