From it’s rich history and colonial architecture to the hidden gems that can be found within Palmer Square, there’s such a quintessential charm about Princeton, New Jersey. And, of course, a trip to Princeton wouldn’t be complete without indulging in savory (or sweet) Jammin’ Crepes or artisan ice cream from The Bent Spoon. I can go on about why this city is special, but what I particularly love most are Princeton weddings. After all, they evoke a classic essence, rooted in tradition, while still perfectly blending modern touches that will be forever timeless.
If you haven’t been to a wedding (or event) at the Nassau Inn, you’re missing out. The boutique-style setting is so romantic and understated, but also has such a warm and inviting vibe. Not to mention, the courtyard offers an intimate setting for a ceremony, there’s on-site accommodations, a grand ballroom, and a Yankee Doodle Tap Room to keep the party going long after the reception ends. In other words, a picture-perfect setting for a black-tie wedding.
Once Danielle of Magnolia West Events shared the overall look she was dreaming up, I was excited to get started on the pretty paper details for this styled shoot collaboration. The invitation was printed in white ink on a thick acrylic with monogram crest and modern Lace and Belle calligraphy for an unexpected, fresh take on a traditional paper invitation. Black linen envelopes with white calligraphy created a rather striking look. Wouldn’t you just be so excited to receive an invitation that makes such a wonderful first impression for your wedding day?
When tying the knot in a facility that’s rich in history, choosing details that enhance the architecture will go a long way. Case in point…the courtyard ceremony. Have you ever seen such an incredible backdrop right in the heart of Palmer Square complete with a plexi backdrop, Opus chairs, gold sequin runner, gold metallic detailing, and statement-making florals designed by Dahlia’s. Add in sophisticated Pronovias gowns from Castle Couture, stylish tuxes from Chazzmatazz, classic jewelry from Hamilton Jewelers, not one but TWO different tablescapes for reception ideas, lucite detailing, romantic candlelight, custom calligraphy menu cards, sequin linens, a jaw-dropping custom dance floor from Bombshell Graphics, and a sleek marble wedding cake adorned with flowers created by Caketeria. HEART. EYES. FOR. DAYS!!! Jaye Kogut Photography followed this adorable duo around Palmer Square for portraits and nailed every creative detail on camera. It’s a timeless black-tie affair at it’s very best and you can obsess over the dreamy imagery below. Xo
